Within this, a social media campaign with the objective of raising awareness among migrant workers and the general public was launched. The campaign is active on social media platforms such as Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and IMO. To make the content more accessible to workers from all backgrounds, content is published in a variety of languages, including English, Bangla, Hindi, Sinhala, and Dhivehi. The content of these posts is intended to disseminate information about their rights, increasing awareness about labour exploitation, and encouraging them to reach out and seek legal advice surrounding rights and employment.
To provide legal assistance Mobile Legal Aid Camps (MLACs) were held across islands in Maldives to provide legal support, guidance, and advocacy for migrant workers. A translator was also on site to ensure effective communication with the migrant workers. During the MLAC, PILC provided legal awareness on human rights and labour rights for the migrant worker community in some islands.
